Minnesota law requires certain predatory offenders to register with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Predatory Offender Unit. Law enforcement agencies receive information from the BCA and DOC pertaining to the risk levels of offenders. Level three is a higher risk and deemed the most likely to reoffend. Broad public notification is required for level three offenders.
The intent of this notification is not to cause fear in the community but rather increase awareness.
