Winter system could bring ‘plowable snow’ to Minnesota on Friday

The next chance for “plowable” snow in Minnesota appears to be this Friday, with the current models suggesting several inches are possible in southern Minnesota and maybe the Twin Cities.

We’re still a few days out and much can change before Friday, but in its forecast discussion, the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities says “widespread snow is likely across the area Friday into Saturday.”

“Snowfall amounts look to be heaviest across eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin and ensemble guidance shows fairly high (60-90%) probabilities of a plowable 1-3″ of snow, but very low (0-20%) for more than 6″,” it says…
