A police pursuit on Highway 7 in Minnetonka turned chaotic when a vehicle’s tires were deflated, leading to a foot chase in extreme cold conditions. The incident, which originally began in the early hours, involved the Minnetonka Police Department assisting the South Lake Minnetonka Police Department, according to a report from the City of Minnetonka’s official website. Following the deflation of the vehicle’s tires near Highway 7 and Woodland Road, four individuals fled the scene, scattering in the sub-zero temperatures.
While three of the suspects were quickly apprehended by law enforcement, one remains at large – prompting local police to issue a public alert. The concern for the individual’s welfare is heightened by the brutal cold, with the subject last spotted running south of Highway 7, just east of Woodland Road. Officials are urging residents to stay vigilant and report any sightings, particularly of individuals who may be wandering without adequate winter attire.
Despite the active search for the remaining fugitive, authorities have stated there is no immediate danger to the public. “There is no known threat to public safety at this time,” the Minnetonka report reassures.
