Speeding Cameras are On Their Way to Minnesota this Summer

Nearly a year ago there were talks of adding speeding cameras and red light cameras to our roads in Minnesota . Well now, there is a set date for when we’ll see those cameras roll out in parts of the state.

In my original story from March of 2024, it was a bill that had just been introduced. It was first talked about in January 2024 and focused only on Minneapolis , according to KARE 11 .

However, based on info from FOX 9 , as lawmakers kept talking about the idea they also talked about the possibility of putting up speeding and red light cameras across the state.

How Minnesota’s Speeding and Red Light Cameras Will Work

These cameras will only take a picture of your back license plate if you are going 10 MPH or more over the speed limit and/or you run a red light.

If a camera catches you, the first instance would be a warning sent in the mail. After that, it’s a $40 ticket that you will be mailed…
