Missing 69-Year-Old Woman with Alzheimer’s Found Safe in Minneapolis

In a recent turn of events, the Minneapolis Police Department took to social media to inform the public that Mary Andrews, a 69-year-old woman with Alzheimer’s who had been reported missing, has been found and is safe. The notice came as a relief after a citywide effort to locate the missing woman.

Previously, the Minneapolis Police Department had issued an urgent appeal to the public on February 20th, seeking assistance in finding Mary Andrews. Described as a 5’2″ tall black woman, weighing 135 lbs., with bleached white hair, she was last seen on February 19th at around 8:30 p.m. near 1818 Lowry. She was wearing a black jacket, grey sweatpants, and black shoes, and, critically, she did not possess a phone or vehicle. The community was deeply concerned about her disappearance, given her condition and the cold temperatures associated with Minneapolis winters.

Following the initial appeal, the police department’s post, according to their Facebook page, encouraged anyone with information about Mary’s whereabouts to call 911, referencing incident number 25-041939. Alternatively, tips could be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers, either by phone or through their website…
