A man was taken into custody following a break-in at a Speedway gas station on Lake Street West, the Minneapolis Police Department has disclosed. Officers were dispatched in response to a burglary alarm which ultimately led to the arrest of the individual, found just one block away clutching goods that, according to the authorities, came from the store in question.
The Minneapolis Police Department laid out the event in a social media post, where they detailed that the suspect had made an entrance through a door situated at the back of the station. He had his hands filled with several packs of cigarettes, lottery tickets, and a variety of other items. The officers managed to respond swiftly to the scene, enabling them to apprehend the suspect in the immediate vicinity, “just a block away,” as per the MPD’s account.
Held responsible for the burglary, the individual has been processed and placed at Hennepin County Jail facing corresponding charges.
