In a recent post by the Minneapolis Police Department on social media, officers reported the recovery of stolen bicycles following an observation made during the clearance of a small encampment in a local resident’s backyard. The officers noticed two bicycles that seemed incongruous within the context of the encampment, and upon further investigation, it was confirmed through serial number checks that these bicycles were, in fact, stolen property. A suspect was identified by the police for being in possession of the stolen bikes. According to the social media post, “Officers were able to identify a suspect in possession of the stolen property, ensuring accountability while also returning the bicycles to their rightful owners.”
