Rochester Restaurant Announces Sudden Closure

It’s been a busy week for restaurant news in Rochester. We got an update from Nupa Mediterranean Cuisine, reported on the opening plans of a new chicken chain, and now we’re learning that a downtown restaurant has closed.

There’s a lot happening so let’s unpack it all.

Nupa North Reopens

Earlier this week, Nupa announced that their north location was open again. They were temporarily being closed after an employee was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The restaurant says that employee has been released by immigration and thanked the community for its support.

Dave’s Hot Chicken Is Coming

Yesterday, I shared a story about a new chicken-chain that’s coming to Rochester this spring. The Los Angeles based chain operates more than 100 restaurants in 4 countries and is known for its spicy chicken tenders.

Former NBA player and Minnesota native, Kris Humphries (also known for being married to Kim Kardashian for like 10 minutes) brought Dave’s Hot Chicken to the state, calling it the “best chicken ever.”
