Chicago, IL – A powerful winter storm is bringing dangerous whiteout conditions, high winds, and flash flooding across the Midwest and Central Plains, with hazardous travel expected through Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service, a near-record low-pressure system is sweeping through the region, bringing blizzard conditions from the Central Plains to the Great Lakes. Heavy snowfall, combined with wind gusts exceeding 60 mph, is creating localized whiteouts, significantly reducing visibility on major highways.
