The incident, which unfolded through Snapchat, involved Nicholas Irvin Martell, a 31-year-old who once served on the force in Isanti and St. Paul. On Monday, he entered a guilty plea in Anoka County District Court, confessing to electronically distributing sexually explicit material to a minor. The case has drawn attention due to its disturbing details and Martell’s attempt to cover his tracks.

Disturbing Incident Unfolds

The situation began on July 27 when Martell sent the inappropriate photo to the daughter of a friend. The girl’s father had previously asked Martell to support her through struggles with bullying and depression. Instead, Martell crossed a line by transmitting the explicit image.

When the girl revealed that a friend had seen it, Martell urged her to lie and claim someone else was responsible. Despite his efforts, the truth surfaced, leading to his arrest and eventual confession.
