Twin Cities Man Arrested On Warrant For Burglary At NCC In 2021

Sheldon, Iowa — A twin cities area man has been arrested on a warrant on felony burglary and theft charges after an incident in 2021 in Sheldon.

According to a criminal complaint filed with the Sioux County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Sheldon Police Department, 48-year-old Mark Anthony Vaugn of St. Paul, Minnesota is accused of entering the Northwest Iowa Community College (NCC) campus and taking cash and a credit card in August of 2021. He was arrested on the warrant on Monday.

In his statement, the officer says a man entered the campus and stole cash and an NCC credit card from secure locations within the campus. The man left NCC when confronted by staff, driving away in a Ford Taurus. NCC has surveillence cameras. He says their investigation indicated Vaugn was the suspect. A search warrant was executed of Vaugn’s apartment. Officers located clothing in Vaugn’s apartment matching the clothing seen in the surveillance video, says the officer. He says officers also noted that Vaugn owns a Ford Taurus matching the vehicle seen in surveillance video…
