United Hospital lockdown lifted after police respond to inaccurate report of armed suspect

A lockdown has been lifted at United Hospital in St. Paul on Friday after a police search for a potentially armed suspect, which turned out to be a false report.

Police initially said officers went to a property across from United Hospital on Smith Avenue North on a report of a man “allegedly threatening a staff member with a gun.” However, authorities say the initial report was determined to be inaccurate.

A spokesperson for Allina Health tells Bring Me The News the hospital went under lockdown per its normal procedures and it lasted for an hour-and-a-half, beginning just after 11:30 a.m.

The man was found a short time later and officers didn’t find a gun on him…
