During World War II, a select group of women completed different transport duties and flew every aircraft available, including the P-51 Mustang and large four-engine B-17 and B-29 bombers. Some of those women were Minnesotans who are now the focus of a new tribute designed to educate and inspire.
“Just like in the 1940’s the United States is facing a pilot shortage so everyone is crucial to military and commercial aviation at this point in our history,” said retired United States Air Force Lt. Col. Caroline “Blaze” Jensen.
