SAINT PAUL, Minn. (GRAY) – The Minnesota Department of Public Safety will pay increased attention to distracted driving in April as part of a month long campaign to lower hands-free violations in the state.
Minnesota’s Office of Traffic Safety announced the initiative on Friday morning, ahead of the start of that campaign on April 1st.
Early numbers from 2024 (not including December) show distracted driving resulted in nearly 30 deaths statewide last year. In fact, since 2019, Minnesota has seen more than 115,000 distracted driving citations and more than 175 fatalities as a result of distracted driving…
