Brooklyn Park Resident Charged with Burglary and Property Damage After Neighborhood Disturbance

A Brooklyn Park neighborhood was the site of a disturbance and subsequent arrest on March 28th, authorities say. The Brooklyn Park Police Department received a call around noon regarding an adult group home resident who had left the premises without permission, according to an incident report. The situation escalated when the male individual began breaking windows in the area.

Multiple 911 calls painted a picture of the scene, reporting not only property damage but also an unlawful entry into a residence on the 7700 block of 67th Avenue. Officers arrived to find and ultimately apprehend the 21-year-old suspect, who is currently facing charges of 1st Degree Burglary and 1st Degree Damage to Property. The arrest was made without further incident, however, the suspect did sustain minor injuries while causing damage prior to the arrival of law enforcement officials.

No other physical injuries were reported in the wake of the commotion. Additionally, reports from the scene indicate that there was no involvement of any weapon. The neighborhood, still reeling from broken glass and unwelcome intrusions, is, for now, a little quieter once the police cruisers have rolled away with the suspect in custody…
