Runaway Minnesota teen found in Phillips County reunited with family after escaping custody

MALTA, Mont. – A runaway girl from Minnesota was located in Phillips County on Tuesday, April 1, according to the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Jerry Lytle reported that the US Border Patrol informed him about a runaway in the area. After a brief search, a car carrying the girl was stopped. The driver was identified as a female runaway from Minnesota.

The girl was initially taken to the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office, and her parents were notified and set out for Malta to pick her up. However, later that evening, she escaped custody and drove off in her car…
