New lunch spot with Korean-inspired sandwiches, bowls opens in Minneapolis

A new lunch hub is now serving sandwiches and bowls in downtown Minneapolis .

Food on the Fly, run by chef/owner Samo Newman and sous chef Nate Stefanski, has opened in the former ground-floor storefront of Valentino Cafe at the Forum 900 building.

The lunch-only restaurant is dishing up a Korean-inspired menu with vegan variations on its chicken, pork, pastrami, and bratwurst sandwiches.

The menu features a smoked chicken sandwich with gochujang glaze and citrus cabbage; a tuna sandwich with marinated raw tuna, sesame vinaigrette, soy ginger aioli, and pickled bean sprouts; a vegan pastrami sandwich with purple pickled cabbage, pickled daikon, gochujang mustard, and soy ginger aioli; and a variety of rice bowls, including a crispy fish bowl with jasmine rice, fried pollock, and strawberry vinaigrette…
