Driver who fled in U-Haul for 11-plus miles sentenced

The man who led Elk River Police on a dangerous 11-mile pursuit in a U-Haul box truck was sentenced on March 17 in Sherburne County 10th District Court to 20 months for fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle.

It appears the life of crime that Jermaine Combs, a 45-year-old Minneapolis man, has been living is perhaps finally catching up with him.

This is not the first time he has been convicted of fleeing police. He was also convicted for it on Dec. 13, 2024 for an incident that happened on March 6, 2024 but he received a downward disposition of 22 months that was stayed for three years, according to online court documents…
