Mild & Showery Weekend Before Changing Conditions Monday

SATURDAY – SUNDAY: Saturday has featured mild temperatures, with all of us enjoying high temperatures in the 60’s. There were a few early day showers, but the afternoon featured periods of sun and clouds. We’ll see quiet conditions continuing overnight, with overnight lows remaining mild. Temperatures Sunday morning will start off in the 40’s across the board. As we go through the day, temperatures will be slightly cooler than Saturday, but still mild, with highs in the 50’s. Shower chances will increase throughout the day, with a period of steady rain moving in for the evening and overnight hours. Temperatures will also quickly fall through the evening as we will see a transition to wintry mix/snow across the region, especially in the Devil’s Lake Basin and northern Minnesota. Chances of accumulating snow are low but cannot be ruled out, especially in northern Minnesota as the system intensifies as it exits our region. Gusty north winds up to 40+ mph also means that visibility may be low in areas with actively falling snow, even without accumulation. Luckily, any accumulating snow that does fall will be too heavy and wet to blow around, limiting visibility concerns to where snow is falling.

MONDAY – TUESDAY: Monday morning will be a jarring start, with lows in the 20’s and 30’s and lingering mix/snow across the region. Gusty north winds will remain in place as well, making it feel colder than it is. Precipitation exits by Monday afternoon, but it remains cooler in the 30s and 40s for highs. Tuesday will be slightly warmer, but temperatures will still remain on the cooler side with highs in the 40s to low 50s.

WEDNESDAY – FRIDAY: Wednesday starts chilly in the 20s and low 30s, but highs rebound into the 50s and low 60s with a mix of sun and clouds. Thursday and Friday look to be partly cloudy with highs in the 50s and low 60s. There is a slight chance of showers on Thursday and Friday.
