the Best Restaurants on Lake Minnetonka

The cute and charming town of Wayzata is nestled on the northeast shore of Lake Minnetonka. Whether arriving by car or boat, you will find options for various cuisines ranging from casual to chic. Focusing on American specials and Midwesterners’ favorites, Wayzata serves some of the best burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, pizza, french fries, and dessert.

Cov and 6 Smith sit proudly in the top-rated American cuisine with outstanding American classics—french fries and cheeseburgers—in the most popular dishes. Both restaurants have close and easy access to public, free boat docks, making them a great option for food off the water. Cov is a more casual option, with beautiful outdoor seating and a charming interior of dark wood and navy and white paint. My personal favorites are the juicy burger, truffle fries, signature Cov sushi, and lobster guacamole. Though some might say the food is slightly overpriced, Cov offers reliable food options and a lively atmosphere. 6 Smith, an elegant and rustic artisan-inspired restaurant, delivers the most delicious steak, 100% USDA certified, and a special brunch buffet on special holidays. While offering private dining, catering, and happy hour, 6 Smith is highly regarded as the locals’ favorite. The Chilled Lobster Roll and A Fat Burger are my personal favorites, while their brunch pancakes are a perfect morning sweet treat.

A delicious fried chicken sandwich hits the ranks of most popular American dishes as well, and The Grocer’s Table upholds a very high standard with their delicious spicy chicken sandwich. The Grocer’s Table, started by the mother of a local Wayzata family, has options for sit-down seating and ordering, counter service, and a small market. The market’s meats, cheeses, and jarred goods will not disappoint if you’re looking for a unique hostess gift or something special to serve your own guests. In the afternoon, people sit outside enjoying a glass of wine and an entree, while others order coffee and a pastry to go. With its music and lovely atmosphere, The Grocer’s Table’s spicy chicken sandwich, flatbreads, and salads stand out as one of my go-to meals in Wayzata. The owner of Grocer’s Table, Lindsay Pohlad, recently opened a more formal and elegant restaurant next door, Eloise. A key example of charm and class, the elevated yet rustic restaurant and bar offer versatile food, focusing on fish and meats…
