Charges: Bus driver was drunk when he arrived to pick up Cottage Grove students

A Minnesota school bus driver has been charged with two counts of DWI and one count of obstructing the legal process in connection to a February incident in which he is accused of driving a bus drunk.

On Feb. 26, 2025, an employee at Park High School in Cottage Grove alerted the school resource officer to a concern about a bus driver being drunk on the job. The officer approach Joshua Lueth, 36, who was sitting in a bus parked in the fire lane just after 3 p.m.

According to the charges, when the officer approached the bus, Lueth allegedly got out of the driver’s seat to shut the bus door and then told the officer that he “has a job” and needed the officer to leave him alone because he “has the last half of his route to complete.”…
