Minnesotans to cover $430,000 bill for Walz’s lawyers for Congressional hearing

(St. Paul, MN) — Minnesota taxpayers will have to cover the cost of Governor Tim Walz’s lawyers, who helped him during a Congressional hearing on immigration last month.

The state hired K&L Gates to prepare the governor for the U.S. House Oversight Committee hearing on June 12th.

On the day of the hearing, Minnesota’s budget agency sent a letter to a state legislative commission asking it to approve a 430 thousand dollar transfer from a general fund account to the governor’s office to pay for legal fees…
