Severe thunderstorm watch issued in Minnesota, Wisconsin

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued in Minnesota and Wisconsin that’s in effect until Tuesday evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a watch area that includes a narrow band of counties across the center of Minnesota and through northern Wisconsin, warning that 2-inch diameter hail and 70 mph winds are possible.

The watch area includes Anoka County in the north Twin Cities metro, as well as other counties with large populations including Stearns, Sherburne and Wright.
