Minnesota State Fair organizers are left scrambling after one of their 2025 Grandstand performers abruptly canceled their entire tour, including their State Fair show in August.
Fair organizers shared on Thursday (July 17) that they were alerted by the Steve Miller Band late Wednesday that the band would be cancelling their entire tour. The show, headlined by Steve Miller Band with special guest The Rascals, was scheduled for Thursday, August 28, at the Grandstand.
Why did the Steve Miller Band cancel their Minnesota State Fair show?
In a statement from the band, they explain, “The Steve Miller Band has cancelled all of our upcoming tour dates”. They cite “The combination of extreme heat, unpredictable flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes, and massive forest fires make these risks for you our audience, the band and crew unacceptable”.

The statement concluded that “you can blame it on the weather” that the tour is cancelled, expressing “Don’t know where, don’t know when…We hope to see you all again”.
