St. Paul reacts to ‘deeply disappointing’ closure of Cub Foods’ Midway store

The community is rallying around Cub Foods workers whose jobs are being eliminated with the closure of the store in St. Paul’s Midway neighborhood, while lamenting the loss of another grocery option in the city.

Almost 100 employees could be laid off when the store at 1440 University Ave. W. closes on Aug. 2, according to a layoff notice filed Monday by Supervalu with the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.
