In a 6-1 vote Tuesday, Hennepin County commissioners voted to dissolve the Hennepin Healthcare System board, assuming oversight and control of Hennepin County Medical Center in the process.
In a statement, Hennepin County said assuming control of Minnesota’s largest Level I trauma center from the volunteer board will “stabilize operations, preserve essential services, and ensure continued access to care for the county’s most vulnerable residents.”
If nothing was done, the county claims the hospital could have closed by the end of the year…
