The Uvalde Foundation For Kids announced Saturday it will send community safety patrols to Minneapolis, with plans to station them around school communities and Annunciation Church neighborhoods.
The safety patrols are designed to help students and the surrounding community by providing support and increasing safety in areas of need.
“Patrol members are trained to recognize and de-escalate potential crisis situations, alert law enforcement of potential threats/incidents, and are part of a nationwide effort to engage community members in reducing student-related violence,” the foundation said in a statement. “The specialized school community patrols are specifically designed to increase student safety throughout neighborhoods and provide additional community support for students, faculty, parents and school.”…
