Murder charges unsealed for suspect in deadly shooting at North Mississippi Regional Park

A 19-year-old homicide victim “didn’t have a chance to do anything” when he was gunned down earlier this summer at a north Minneapolis park, according to a newly unsealed arrest warrant.

Prosecutors charged Seneca Lee Jones, 27, of Brooklyn Park with one count each of second-degree murder and illegally possessing a firearm in connection with the killing of 19-year-old Darnell Hawkins Mapp of St. Paul.

Jones was charged via complaint warrant back in July, and a judge unsealed the case on Friday as authorities continue to search for the defendant…
