There’s plenty to see in Richfield, and sometimes there’s too much of a good thing.
The Richfield City Council approved the second reading of an ordinance redefining what constitutes residential wildlife feeding in the city, expanding the restrictions beyond the deer and raccoons that had been expressly identified in the city’s code. The council’s unanimous approval during its Sept. 9 meeting is intended to the “unusually large number of complaints” the city has been receiving on top of the annual complaints the city receives about neighborhood feeding of turkeys, squirrels and waterfowl, according to Jennifer Anderson, the city’s support services manager.
