The results of a Metropolitan Council audit presented before the Audit Committee on Tuesday put former Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce CEO Jonathan Weinhagen back in the spotlight, revealing more questionable spending on his watch.
Weinhagen was charged with wire fraud, mail fraud, attempted bank fraud, and submitting a false statement in a loan application in October. He was president and CEO of the Minneapolis Regional Chamber from 2016 until his sudden departure in June 2024.
