An Apple Valley resident and Bloomington restaurant owner was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Jan. 6 and was being held in El Paso, Texas, as of Monday.
Juan Manuel Arellano Zepeda, 48, a Mexican national and the owner of El Fresco restaurant, was initially reported missing by his family after they found his car empty at the end of the driveway with its driver’s side window rolled down, according to Newsweek.
Arellano Zepeda called his son at about 10 a.m. Jan. 7 to say that was going to be taken to El Paso, Texas, according to a GoFundMe page, and the Department of Homeland Security later confirmed that he was in the Texas detention facility…
