A midday argument on Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis turned violent Monday, leaving a man with a potentially life-threatening head wound, according to police. Officers were called to the 1500 block of Nicollet Avenue near West 15th Street around 2:18 p.m., and the injured man was taken by ambulance to Hennepin Healthcare.

Minneapolis police told FOX 9 that a preliminary investigation found the victim had met with another man and a woman on the block when an argument escalated to gunfire. Officers found the man on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head, provided aid at the scene and arranged for his transport to the hospital. Police said the other man left before officers arrived.
