Local Rumor, a homey St. Paul restaurant on Selby Avenue, has closed.
Owner Scott Cochran shared the news on social media, with a statement that begins “This is a hard post to write, but it comes with a lot of gratitude.
“Despite our best efforts, we were unable to reach a sustainable agreement with our landlord that would allow us to continue operating,” the statement, signed by Cochran, reads. “Like many small businesses right now, we’ve been navigating rising costs and an increasingly difficult landscape, and ultimately we ran out of room to keep stretching.”
