A woman is in critical condition after a hit-and-run on St. Paul’s North End Tuesday night, marking the city’s second serious case in about a week.
Officers found her lying in the roadway near Rice Street and Pennsylvania Avenue with severe injuries. St. Paul Fire medics rushed her to Regions Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.
What Police Say
According to the Pioneer Press, officers on patrol came upon the woman near the Rice and Pennsylvania intersection and reported that her injuries were consistent with being struck by a vehicle.
Investigators say the case is being treated as a hit-and-run and remains under active investigation. No arrests have been announced, and authorities have not released the victim’s name.
Second Crash In A Week
This latest hit-and-run comes on the heels of another deadly incident not far away. The Star Tribune reported that 66-year-old Donald John Piele was struck on Feb. 11 while riding a mobility scooter near Phalen Boulevard and Rose Avenue. He died at Regions Hospital the next day…
