Fhima’s restaurant quietly closes in downtown Minneapolis

Chef David Fhima has closed his eponymous restaurant in downtown Minneapolis after nearly eight years.

Fhima’s Minneapolis held its final night of service Saturday in the opulent art deco space that’s attached to the City Center building.

Fhima tells Bring Me The News that there are multiple reasons for its closure, namely the rising cost of maintenance in the historic building that housed the Forum Cafeteria from 1930 to 1975 and Target’s official exit from the adjacent 51-story tower, which is now seeking a new buyer…
