After he was previously sentenced for a crash that killed five women in south Minneapolis, Derrick Thompson was given a federal sentence of over 14 years on possession charges.
Court records from the federal court show Thompson was sentenced to a 171-month term (14.25 years) for federal charges stemming from a fatal Minneapolis crash in 2023, in which drugs and a weapon were found inside his car.
