Charges: Man threatened to shoot up South St. Paul school, leading to districtwide closure

A man is accused of threatening to shoot up a South St. Paul school during an argument with an ex-girlfriend who has a protective order against him, prompting the district to close schools and transition to e-learning earlier this week.

Tre’Quan Delon Prewitt, 28, of St. Paul is charged with felony threats of violence and violating a domestic abuse order for protection.

According to a criminal complaint, a domestic-related 911 hang-up call led police around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday to the St. Paul apartment of a 37-year-old woman, who told officers that Prewitt said he was “going to shoot the f**k out of” South St. Paul Secondary School, where her son goes…
