Suspect in Bloomington misconduct case appears from job at Richfield Schools

The 25-year-old former Bloomington Public Schools employee who was charged with one count of criminal conduct in the third degree involving a high school student appears to have been working for Richfield Public Schools until recently.

In a message to district families last week, Richfield Supt. Steven Unowsky did not identify Margarita Sanchez in his communication explaining that “a part-time paraprofessional at Richfield High School was recently arrested for criminal sexual conduct.”

The district did not confirm that the employee was the same Margarita Sanchez recommended for hiring as a paraprofessional in January 2025 or provide details on her tenure within the district…
