County attorney announces charges against bounty hunters accused of pointing weapons at civilians

MINNEAPOLIS — Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty has announced criminal charges have been filed against two bounty hunters accused of “pointing weapons at civilians” in front of Minneapolis City Hall earlier this month.

In a video posted on social media, Moriarty said the two unidentified individuals are charged with felony threats of violence and displaying a replica of a firearm.

“One of the bounty hunters pointed what looked like a Glock handgun at civilians,” Moriarty said. “Another bounty hunter discharged a rifle-style weapon at the scene, which was determined to be firing less-lethal ammunition. Witnesses reported to investigators that the weapons’ appearance was indistinguishable from real firearms.”…
