FORECAST FIRST ALERT TONIGHT INTO THURSDAY MORNING: Rain will move into the Twin Cities after 4 p.m. Today with temperatures in the mid to upper 40s and East Winds at 10 to 20 mph. During the evening hours temperatures will be eventually falling into the upper 30s by 10 p.m. allowing Sleet and Snow to mix in with the Rain. Once temperatures around 2 a.m. fall to near 32 Degrees the concern will be for Slushy Snow Accumulations of 1″ to 2″ on Roads and possibly some Ice Glaze especially on bridges and overpasses and in areas along the Minnesota/Wisconsin border and points east. Weight on Power Lines from Ice and Wet Snow may lead to some power outages. The heaviest Snow will fall along a line from Alexandria to Brainerd to Duluth and north with +6″ of Snow in many Spots.
Conditions Thursday in the Twin Cities will improve by the Noon hour as temperatures climb into the upper 30s meaning Rain and even some Thunder which will end about 5 p.m. Thursday.
Another Storm System very similar will move into the Twin Cities area on Friday afternoon with Rain and Thunder during the day then Rain / Freezing Rain / Sleet and Snow Saturday morning with the +6″ Snowfall in areas north of St.Cloud and right now only 1″ or less expected in the Twin Cities…
