A St. Paul man has been charged with shooting a 17-year-old and leaving him critically injured, allegedly blaming the teen’s father for a house fire that killed his own son.
Gyaw Way, 61, was charged with one count of first-degree assault earlier this week in connection with the Tuesday shooting.
According to the criminal complaint, police responded to a report of a shooting on the 1500 block of Hoyt Avenue East at around 3:45 p.m. At the scene, police found a 17-year-old in the driver’s seat of a car suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest and an exit wound to his back.
