Boy who rescued brother from icy creek making progress after lifesaving medical effort

The 5-year-old boy who suffered devastating injuries as he saved his younger brother from an icy creek on Easter Sunday is showing remarkable signs of progress.

Ashkan Thibodeaux, of Greenway, leapt into action to save his brother from freezing water, but was unable to haul himself out of the creek.

It has since been revealed by his family on CaringBridge that a combination of EMTs, sheriff’s deputies, firefighters, nurses, doctors, and air ambulance staff “performed life-saving manual CPR on Ashkan for 6 hours as he was transported to Minneapolis via Life Link airplane.”…
