Former bookkeeper charged in Eden Prairie business theft case

A South St. Paul woman has been charged in Hennepin County District Court with three felony counts of theft by swindle, one felony count of financial transaction card fraud and one gross misdemeanor count of theft by swindle in a case tied to an Eden Prairie landscaping business.

Karen Marie Kerley, 58, was charged April 14, according to court records.

The charges stem from allegations by the owner of C N’R Lawn N’ Landscape Inc., 7960 Wallace Road in Eden Prairie, who told police in February 2025 that Kerley, a former bookkeeper for the business, had been adding money to her paychecks and making unauthorized purchases, according to the criminal complaint…
