1 dead after shooting in Edina

EDINA, Minn. — Police said one person died after being shot in Edina Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities are asking the public to continue to avoid the area near 66th Street West at York Avenue South in Edina until further notice.

The department posted on social media around 12:30 p.m., saying there was a “large police presence” on the 3300 block of 66th Street. When KARE 11 crews arrived, they captured what appeared to be SWAT personnel canvassing the area, which included a building Edina Police Chief Tod Milburn described as a “transitional affordable housing apartment complex.”…
