High demand for Hillsborough County’s summer meal program

RUSKIN, Fla. — The summer meal program through the U.S. Department of Agriculture is aimed at helping families in rural areas, and it’s back for the first time since the pandemic.

On the program’s opening day last week in Ruskin, the response was overwhelming. The site was so busy that it ran out of food within the first few hours of opening.
