World Cup cash: Tampa Bay restaurants seeing massive spike in sales during tournament

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Bars and restaurants across the Tampa Bay area have seen massive increases in sales of both food and drinks during World Cup games, especially at times where many businesses are slow.

“I’ve seen as much of an uptick as like 50% on some nights, especially during the week, think Tuesday, Wednesday,” said Tony Khouri, the owner of Tampa Burgers & Pirates.
