Hot weather continues but rain returns Friday.

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – The string of mostly dry and very hot days continues for Sarasota and Bradenton and the rest of the Suncoast. There will be plenty of sunshine and only a small chance of an afternoon storm. Highs will reach the lower 90s near the coast and mid 90s inland, with the heat index climbing to around 105 to 108 degrees. Any storm that develops could produce gusty winds and heavy rain, but the chances are slight and coverage will be isolated at most.

Rain chances increase Friday as a trough of low pressure moves across the state and spikes the rain chances. We can expect scattered afternoon and evening storms.

The weekend turns drier again, with only isolated storms Saturday and Sunday, followed by a similar pattern Monday. Heat remains the main concern, with highs in the lower 90s near the coast and mid 90s inland…
