ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) – Montreace Fields never thought she’d get the chance to graduate high school. After having her first child at 15 years old, she believed her life was taking her in a new direction.
“I didn’t think I would ever be wearing a cap and gown,” she said.

Fields left Pinellas County Schools and went to a private institution. Then, she worked as a certified nursing assistant for over a decade. It was only when she wanted to become a nurse practitioner, a dream from years ago, that she realized something wasn’t right.
“I had a high school diploma. I went to a teen parenting program. They gave us a high school diploma, but when I tried to go and get a job at Baycare, they told me that my school wasn’t accredited, and I didn’t know that it wasn’t accredited,” Fields said…
