TAMPA, Fla. — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation following the death of an inmate who spent nearly a week receiving treatment at a local hospital.
Deputies said 35-year-old Ryan Zavalick died late Sunday night after being admitted to Tampa General Hospital for medical complications.
According to agency records, Zavalick was being held at the Falkenburg Road Jail when jail staff transferred him to the hospital on August 24 for health-related concerns. He remained under the care of hospital staff until he was pronounced dead at 11:13 p.m. on August 30…
