As hurricane forecasters watch an invest in the northern Gulf of America and track the remnants of Tropical Storm Dolly through the Caribbean, it’s setting up to be a rainy week in Polk County and much of Florida through the Labor Day weekend.
The National Weather Service in Ruskin says the county can expect a lot of rain. The standard pattern of afternoon and evening thunderstorms can be expected into next week, but there’s also a strong rain chance in the mornings later this week.
